Andy Miles played Saxophone in Jazz, Pop, Funk and Bock bands, played Bagpipes and Tinwhistle in Folk bands, was Principal Clarinetist at the Hamburg Opera, is Solo Clarinetist at the WDR, played as a Soloist with his Symphonic Jazz-, Tango- and Klezmer programs with Orchestras almost everywhere in the world etc etc.... 

All this explains the unusual colorfulness of his compositions!
